I Need A Favor....

No, not like a real favor….a wedding favor! Well yes I guess a wedding favor would be real…oh just let me get to the point already! Geesh!

I wanted to post this b/c it gives great ideas for unique wedding favors. Now I don’t know about you but I have been to my fair share of wedding and I always get the same ‘ol same…candy almonds (gag me) bubbles, little picture frames, key chains. Boring! Well while I was wondering on the Knot.com I found a list of 101 favor ideas and yes the above mention oldies but goodies are on there but there are some on there that I would have not in a million years thought of! What? Oh you want examples? Okay! Goldfish in tiny floral-etched bowls (Really…Wow), mini travel games, personalized luggage tags! I think these would defiantly set your wedding apart from the rest! So what are you waiting for…go check out the rest of them! Go on…

In the Works: Eiryn and Vince

OMG! We recently received a test shot for the photographs of Eiryn and Vince's wedding invitations. The concept was the brainchild of Unique Designs and Paul from Footstone Photography. We met last month to discuss the look and feel for the photo shoot and the results are here!!!!!

It is sooo beautiful! We can't wait for the actual photo shoot, it is going to be amazing! We were extremely impressed with Paul's work before this photo, and he has gone above and beyond anything we could have wished for. The concept for this photo shoot is amazing, it is so romantic just like we wanted! Can't wait to share.

The anticipation is killing us!

Allow me to introduce myself….

Hi guys! I wanted to take some time out to introduce myself as a member of the Unique Design team. You’ll be seeing post from me a lot so I figured you might want to know who this cooky, opinionated girl is! My name is Kenya and my position with the company is Sales and Promotions. I’m the first person you’ll talk to when you have the phone consultation. But no worries, it won’t be a scary experience at all. I have this position b/c I’m a people person, I love to meet new people and I’m very easy to talk to. I promise to always make the experience as fun as possible!!!

When I’m not helping make your custom invitation dreams come true, you can find me watching old movies (my favorite being Breakfast at Tiffany’s), Shopping, listing to my iPod , or reading the latest in celebrity gossip!!! I’m a complete girly girl, I love high heel shoes (it’s an addiction, lol) and the color pink! But I have a sporty side as well. I’m a HUGE fan of the Florida Gator football team! During the season you see a lot less pink and whole lot of orange and blue!

So now you know a little about me. And I look forward to getting to know you in the future. Ciao!!!

In the works: Eiryn and Vince

This is the first in a series of posts that we like to call "In the Works". These posts will be about projects that we are currently working on and will give a behind the scenes look at the creative process. Right now we're working on invitations for one of the most interesting couples we have met in a while. The true love and playfulness shared between Eiryn and Vince really made designing this invitation a pleasure.

We first met the couple last month at our first consultation. The bride-to-be was very detail driven and very specific in what she wanted. Vince on the other hand was a tall ball of fun, very funny and playful with his fiance'. After meeting with them we traveled to her office to view some of the work in progress for their wedding. We were in heaven! Color swatches, bridal books, magazine cut outs, fabric swatches, linens, tablescapes, it was a Martha Stewart workshop! The best part was her enthusiasm in planning this unforgettable event. Her goal for this wedding was to create a lavish romance filled evening for them and their guests. The recurring theme was grapes and wine. The style of this wedding evoked a feeling of an ultra- luxurious Tuscany themed wedding. It was dark and sexy with a mature sophistication.

After choosing the colors, papers, pockets and embellishments, conversation turned to the wording. A traditional catholic wedding that had to represent her Filipino heritage as well. The challenge was how to make a modern invitation that honored both the culture and religion, not seem overwhelming? Well, we designed a double layered pocket fold invitation with 3 attachments. In the pocket was a bridal entourage card, lodging and reception card and an RSVP card with a printed envelope. The end result was a stunning design that exemplified the style and sophistication of this wedding. A masterpiece, if we do say so ourselves!

We are currently working on Eiryn and Vince's invitations and we will post some pictures of the work in progress and final creation shortly! Check back soon.
