Bride Wars!
Take a look at the trailer for a new movie called Bride Wars! Anne Hathaway and Kate Hudson will play best friends who are pitted against each other when their wedding dates clash. They compete for venues, services and guests, once it's clear that neither will step aside. The movie looks super fun. Take a look....

A little help from my friends....
I need a little help...
I'm going to be a bridesmaid in one of my best friend's wedding in April and I want to get some other opinions about the dress options. So with out further ado....
The dresses are from David's Bridal, and the color is called Pool. The wedding is going to be a small cozy out door wedding, with all her loved ones. I'm so honored to be in the wedding and I want to look my best! So, with that said, give me some feedback, which dress do you like the best!? Thanks guys!!!

Always a Bridesmaid...
In the movie 27 Dresses, Malcolm (James Marsden) explains that the reason that bridesmaids dresses are so hideous is because brides have a hidden agenda to make the bridesmaids look as bad as possible, thus making themselves look even more fabulous.
Ok, so maybe that isn't really the case. Most brides really do want their best girls to look as great as they do! Here are 5 trends from the Knot.com that will ensure your maids look as perfect as you do on the big day! Let's face it, when they look good, you look good!
In the Works: Kari and Christopher
On the average consultations for us take 30 minutes to an hour to discuss in detail what you envision for your custom invitations....unless you are Kari! LOL She was one of our favorite brides to date! It honestly felt like the time just flew by, her ideas and excitement for her wedding was so...well...exciting!!!
Kari is a great girl who loves pink and black and all things vintage glam! We're currently in the process of creating a fab 5x5 black and pink invitation for her wedding. Stay tuned for more on that soon!
Also, Kari has a blog called Kee to you heart where I found these cuties, they are accordion scrapbooks. And get this...She made them herself!!! A girl after my own heart!

Wedding Wishes
Guess what? 2 of our brides are getting married tomorrow!
Zully and Josh placed an order with us a few weeks ago for place cards. Zully is a creative bride who has done most of the work herself, including her beautiful invitations in aquamarine with cocoa accents. Her intimate affair is very classy with a contemporary flair. She chose a metallic aquamarine with a strip of cocoa for the bottom of the card for added texture and color. We added her pre-designed monogram in a chocolate ink with the names of each guest in a contrasting font and a swirl design on the upper corners for a little flair. We are sure her attention to detail will be prominent at tomorrows nuptials.
Now, Letica and Ronnie! We have been working with them for several months now. They ordered their invitations from us and just recently came back to have us design coordinating reception programs. Letica and Ronnie's colors were chocolate, champagne and cream. Together with Letica we designed a tea length program printed on ecru linen card stock then layered with a metallic chocolate backing and finished off with a Swarovski Crystal in a golden champagne. She has been waiting a very long time for this wedding and we were so honored to be a part of it!
Congratulations to both couples and may tomorrow be stress free and all that you had wished for!

In the Works: Eiryn and Vince
OMG! We recently received a test shot for the photographs of Eiryn and Vince's wedding invitations. The concept was the brainchild of Unique Designs and Paul from Footstone Photography. We met last month to discuss the look and feel for the photo shoot and the results are here!!!!!
It is sooo beautiful! We can't wait for the actual photo shoot, it is going to be amazing! We were extremely impressed with Paul's work before this photo, and he has gone above and beyond anything we could have wished for. The concept for this photo shoot is amazing, it is so romantic just like we wanted! Can't wait to share.

In the works: Eiryn and Vince
This is the first in a series of posts that we like to call "In the Works". These posts will be about projects that we are currently working on and will give a behind the scenes look at the creative process. Right now we're working on invitations for one of the most interesting couples we have met in a while. The true love and playfulness shared between Eiryn and Vince really made designing this invitation a pleasure.
We first met the couple last month at our first consultation. The bride-to-be was very detail driven and very specific in what she wanted. Vince on the other hand was a tall ball of fun, very funny and playful with his fiance'. After meeting with them we traveled to her office to view some of the work in progress for their wedding. We were in heaven! Color swatches, bridal books, magazine cut outs, fabric swatches, linens, tablescapes, it was a Martha Stewart workshop! The best part was her enthusiasm in planning this unforgettable event. Her goal for this wedding was to create a lavish romance filled evening for them and their guests. The recurring theme was grapes and wine. The style of this wedding evoked a feeling of an ultra- luxurious Tuscany themed wedding. It was dark and sexy with a mature sophistication.
After choosing the colors, papers, pockets and embellishments, conversation turned to the wording. A traditional catholic wedding that had to represent her Filipino heritage as well. The challenge was how to make a modern invitation that honored both the culture and religion, not seem overwhelming? Well, we designed a double layered pocket fold invitation with 3 attachments. In the pocket was a bridal entourage card, lodging and reception card and an RSVP card with a printed envelope. The end result was a stunning design that exemplified the style and sophistication of this wedding. A masterpiece, if we do say so ourselves!
We are currently working on Eiryn and Vince's invitations and we will post some pictures of the work in progress and final creation shortly! Check back soon.

Each vendor page allows you to view photos, frequently asked questions, and even contact information.

2008 Wedding Trends
Browsing through theknot.com we came across an article that compiled some of the top wedding trends for 2008. Take a look at some of the fabulous tips the knot has put together from bringing back white to switching up your look in the middle of the wedding .

Trend 1: Making Split Descisions
Can't decide between a princess ball gown and a sexy mini? Wear both! In 2008, brides will make their guests do a double take by switching up their looks between the ceremony and reception with their gowns and hairstyles -- like an elegant updo for when you recite your vows and switching to natural cascading curls to party. And it's not just the bride that's getting a makeover between acts. Couples are also changing up their palettes with a progression of color throughout the day. Guests arrive to a clean, all-white ceremony, experience a hint of pale hues during the cocktail hour, and then step into an explosion of rich color for the reception.
Trend 2: The Gray Area
Steel gray will replace chocolate brown as the accent color. We absolutely love this soft yet deep hue teamed with butter yellow, bright aqua, rich eggplant, or pale pink. It's so versatile! Introduce the color in your stationery, either in the typeface or paper, and then gradually build it into your reception space by way of slate gray table accents and pewter-toned bridesmaid dresses with a contrasting sash.
Trend 3: A Return to White
In recent years, white has taken a backseat to bold hues like hot pink, orange, and purple. The classic color (or lack thereof) is poised to make a huge comeback in a fresh, modern way. Think tall, glistening glass vases overflowing with crisp arrangements of white phalaenopsis orchids and clouds of soft baby's breath. Also, picture sparkling white cakes covered from top to bottom in miniature fondant blossoms. Palette partner: Rose-colored metallics will add a big dose of sophisticated glamour.
Trend 4: Lush and Luxe
Size does matter. Event designers and brides alike are teaming up to create showstopping floral arrangements, such as those seen during the days of Marie Antoinette. This move toward French opulence means more petals, blossoms, candles -- even feathers! -- as centerpieces go from simple and low to towering and lush. Gilded place settings, brocade linens, and hand-painted invitations complete the elaborate look.
Trend 5: Sample Stations
Self-proclaimed foodies will love this trend: tasting bars for every whim. Sure to be popular, wine and cheese stations are not only delicious, they can be educational as well. We know one couple who hired a professional sommelier to provide pairing pointers. Our favorite is the champagne bar. Just pick your favorite bottles of bubbly and don't forget the mixers, such as Chambord, Midori, cranberry juice, and pineapple juice. Guests will have so much fun making their own signature cocktails.
Trend 6: Vintage Visions
From dresses to rings, brides are revisiting the past for style inspiration. For wedding gowns, that means delicate fabrics like chiffon and tiers of tulle, along with bygone embellishments such as beaded straps, keyhole halters, and lace sleeves. For rings, the hot style for '08 is something vintage. Whether it's simply an antique-style band or a real antique (think your great-grandmother's diamond), what's old is definitely new again.
Trend 7: Guests Make the Call
Need help picking that first dance song? Have your guests vote on it. With wedding websites adding more features like blogs, polls, and quizzes, it's easier than ever to involve your loved ones in the planning and decision making. Blogs are also great for reaching out to your bridesmaids and getting feedback on dress colors, flower options, and decor ideas. We love the idea of setting up wedding polls on your website and asking your guests to vote for their favorite cake flavor, entree choices, or dance music.
